This past weekend April 30th in Prince Albert , CPS held a board meeting identifying the most current issues facing the National Park.

  • Status of the Riffle - progress with downstream communities, anticipated completion date of the riffle, anticipated level of the lake at the lowest point in the crest v-notch, if the water reached equilibrium at that level.
  • Status of the stop logs in the Waskesiu River Dam. What is the flow rate over the dam at this time?
  • Status of Management Plan Process - update from Rod and CPS Board comments.
  • New launch at Marina - is it completed and ready for use? Will old launch still be available for use?
  • Marina breakwater - plan was to add rip-rap during winter along weather face. Status of plan?
  • Kingsmere River boat launch access road - update from Rod. CPS has noticed improvement in the grade down to the launch. Is there more work planned by PANP to complete repairs?
Wire mesh across Kingsmere River - purpose?
  • New capital asset funding and allocation to PANP needs - CPS wants to participate in the decision-making process for allocation
  • One project CPS has identified for early 2005 completion is the Crean Channel walkway and rock clearing project. CPS has committed $1,000 to this Project, estimated cost at about $5,000. Will Park contribute funding and manpower to assist in this project? CPS will co-ordinate volunteers.
  • CPS Annual General Meeting - July 17, 11 a.m. location t.b.a. - Rod and successor invited to attend and speak. CPS will advise on topics.
